BOROUGH COUNCIL
AMENDING BY-LAW CONFIRMED A special meeting of the Greymouth Borough. Council was held last evening; present: The Mayor (Mr. J. W. Greenslade), Crs. F. A. Kitchingham, J, B. Kent, J. McGinley, F. B. Lawn, J. S. Robertson, F. F. Boustridge, A. McCarthy, C. Neville, F. L. Turley, R. Marley, and A. H. McKane. On the motion of Or. Kitchingham, seconded by Cr. McKane, the resolution was confirmed making the amending by-law relating to motor-vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians, cemetery charges, and amending and repealing portion of the amending by-law, 1924". It was resolved that the amending by-law should come into operation oh Saturday, December 1. In reply to Cr. Lawn, the Mayor said that the ’by-law would include the abolition of centre-parking of cars on Mackay Street, with the exception of taxis. On the motion of Cr. Kitchingham, seconded by Cr. Boustridge, the resolution was confirmed granting to the Shell Company of New Zealand Ltd., an easement to maintain and use the line of pipes across Petrie Avenue from the railway siding to the. company’s oil and petrol stores.
