KOTUKU NOTES
[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Mr and Mrs M. Joseph and Mrs D. Spencer, who have been spending a few weeks at Christchurch, have returned to Kotuku. Miss Helen Mears is an inmate of the Grey River Hospital. . Mr J. Jack, of Christchurch, is visiting Kotuku. The tennis court was recently reopened. When funds permit, the court will be tar-sealed, but m the meantime the temporary surface is proving satisfactory. Last week’s excursion train was joined by half-a-dozen racing enthusiasts from Kotuku. Such a good time did they have that after coming home on Sunday to spread the glad news, several of them returned to Christchurch on Monday for another day out. . On Friday evening the Tennis Club ran a successful euchre and dance, the prize-winners being Mr Geary and Mrs McAllister. Music for the dance was supplied by Mrs Pickering, with extras by Mrs T. McAllister and Mr M. Pinn. Miss Thelma Looms, of Timaru, is the guest of her Mrs Raymond.
