“Anzac”:—A booklet containing a verse narrative of the historic landing in Gallipoli and afterwards, written by Major A. H. Wilkie, authoi’ of the Official War History of the Wellington Mounted Rifles. It is stated that a number of Anzacs, both Australians and New Zealanders, have made special mention of the amount of information contained in so short a space, and of the realistic atmosphere which runs through it.' In fact a journalist who fought at Anzac informed the author after reading the booklet, that it conveyed to the reader more of what Anzac was like than anything he had read. Added interest to West Coast readers will be found in the reference to Brigadier General Meldrum and his Mounteds.
