LOTTERIES BILL (Press Assn. Copyright) LONDON, November 14. The House of Commons passed the third reading of the Betting and Lotteries Bill by 206 votes to 38. • Replying to the opposition to the clause prohibiting the importation of lottery tickets from Ireland, Sir J. Gilmour (Home Minister) said that the Bill was framed as against the seller or agent for the tickets. The Treasury announces that it will on November 26, draw 44,000,000 three per cent Treasury Bonds for repayment in April, thus reducing the amount thereof outstanding by half. BRITISH TRADE. LONDON, November 14. The Board of Trade reutrns for October show imports £68,993,000; exports £36,748,000; re-exports £4,000,000. The principal increases compared with October 1933, were: Imports, grain and flour £564,000, beverages and cocoa preparations £442,000; tobacco £2,608,000; non-ferrous metalliferous ores £348,000; wood and timber £701,000; rubber £1,468,000; non-ferrous metals and manufactures £677,000.

Exports: Iron and steel and maini-. factures thereof £480,000; machinery £620,000; cotton yarns manufactures £332,000; vehicles £310,000. Decreases: Imports: Living animals for food £343,000; fresh fruit and vegetables £334,000; raw wool £747,000; hides and skins £269,000; leather £227,000. Exports: Non-fer-rous metals manufactures £237,000. MANCHUKUO OIL. SHANGHAI, November 14. Unheeding protests, Manchukuo, today, declared an oil monopoly, whereby the Government will control all importation, supply and distribution of oil, fixing by law the "price of all petroleum products. Revised Manchukuo tariffs, which were promulgated to-day, and are effective on November 22, impose a levy of 371'cents pel- picul on all imports of Australian wheat and flour, which have hitherto entered free.
