The greatest golf meeting ever staged in the Southern Hemisphere, namely, the Centenary Championship tournament, will open on Thuisday. The entries total 130. These include eleven United States Professionals, five British amateurs, and fne New Zealanders (one amateur and four professionals). There is £3OOO in prize money for the professionals, with trophies for the amateurs One thousand pounds goes to the first piofessional. ~, , The first three days will be occupied with the Open Championship stroke play, over seventy-two .holes.
