Showing remarkable accuracy in a high wind, the American professional golfers won three foursomes against Australia at the Lakes course to-day. The results were: — Laffoon and Wood (U.S.A.) defeated W. Bolger and Spence (Australia) 5 Runyan and Cooper (U.S.A.) defeated Stewart and V. Richardson (Australia) 6 and 5. „ . , Shute and Diegel (U.S.A.) defeated Naismith and Cohen (Australia) 7 and The Americans, who outclassed their opponents, were rarely off the fairway, and they covered the pin with theii seconds.’ Laffoon and Wood played dazzling golf. The singles will he played to-morrow.
