INTERESTING FIGURES. Figures showing the quantity and value of West Coast gold exported from New Zealand are given in the annual Mines Statement, as follow: —■ Year ended December 31, 1933:-*-County of Grey 39940 z, valued at £ 29,287; Buller 26470 z, valued at £18,751; Inangahua 28,5450 z, valued at £203,492; Westland 23,2190 z, valued at £168,104; totals, 58,4050 z, valued at £419,634. Year ended December 31, 1932: —• Grey 20540 z, valued at £11,767; Buller 1112 oz, valued at £6384; Inangahua 34,2660 z, valued at £179,558; Westland 21,5330 z, valued at £116,623; totals, 58,9650 z, valued at £314,332. It will be noticed that, although the gold production in 1932 exceeded that in 1933 by 5600 z, it was valued at £105,302 less, owing to the rise in. the price of gold last year. The total quantity of gold exported from the West Coast from January, 1857, to December 31, 1933, was 6,781,6780 z, valued at £27,187,853.
