[OUB OWN COBBESPONDENT.] REEFTON, July 13. At a sitting of the Warden’s Court, to-day, MBr H. Morgan, presided as Warden, and the following cases were heard: —• Application of P. Mitchell for a special alluvial claim. —Objected to by A. Rubbo and others. A. Rubbo and others applied for a special alluvial claim. —Objected to by P. Mit-
chell. After hearing evidence, the Warden held that a survey of the area should be made, and held both applications over pending a surveyor’s report being placed before him. The funeral of the late John Powley took place this afternoon, moving to St. Stephen’s Church and thence to the Suburban Cemetery. The pallbearers were members of the Reef ton Volunteer Fire Brigade, of which deceased’s brother was a prominent member when in Reefton. The members of the Reefton branch of the
Returned Soldiers’ Association also attended, and a firing party under th© command of Major H. Campbell, M.C., led the cortege. The “Last Post” at the graveside was sounded by Mr W. Baird. The services at the church and at graveside were conducted by Rev. W. Bell, of St. Stephen’s Church.
