Paying brilliantly, Miss Joan Hammond won the final of the. Associates golf championship of New South Wales defeating Miss G. Gowing 9 and 8. Miss Hammond went out in 31, which is five under bogey. MELBOURNE, July 13. Two sisters met in the final of the Victorian Women’s gold'championship, Miss Shirley Tolhurst defeating her sister, Mrs Sloan Morpeth 9 and 8. The latter was formerly Miss Susie Tolhurst, and she won the title ’’ in 1929, 1930 and 1931. Her putting today was patchy. Both gave a magnificent exhibition of driving. U.S.A. PROFESSIONALS’ TOUR. NEW YORK, July 13. Mr. Harlow, manager of the American Professional Golfers’ Association, informed the Australian Press Association that he had received satisfactory offers from Sydney and Melbourne authorities for an American team to visit, the Centenary. Each agreed to guarantee expenses to the extent of £5OO. If £250 would be guaranteed bv some other citv, the trip would be assured, in which event he would submit a list of prospective team members for the consideration of the Australian golf officials.
