General inference: Pressure is high over Tasmania, and a ridge of relatively; high pressure extends thence to soutnern New Zealand, otherwise the distribution is remarkably uniform, and there is an absence of strong air currents. Forecast: Winds variable and light to moderate, but south-easterly prevailing. Weather dull and changeable, with scattered showers, but gradually improving. Seas smooth to moderate.
