ABANDONED AT WELLINGTON.

WELLINGTON, April 12

The affiliation of the Wellington Rugby League was cancelled by the New Zealand League Council at a meeting to-night. The president. Mr C. A. Snedden, said that the action was due to inactivity on the part of the present executive in Wellington. No effort would be made to play the code in Wellington this season.

A long discussion took place on an appeal by the Canterbury Referees’ Association against the suspension of a player for the remainder of the season by the Canterbury League for striking a referee. The Referees’ Association asked that the suspension be increased to ten years., Il was decided to increase the suspension by .12 months.

Marist Junior B. V. Runanga at Wingham Park at 1.15: Crase, Carroll, Kiely, Knapp, Keddie, Messenger, Grogan, Morressey, McGirr, Beban, Addison, Lord, Sequin, Morrel. Owing to the Taylorville ground not being available, the Marist and Brunner 4th grade and the Pirate and Brunner Junior matches have been cancelled until the following week-end.
