ANGLICAN SYNOD

BROADCASTING OF SERVICES. [PEB PEESS ASSOCIATION.] HASTINGS, April 13. The motion was moved by Archdeacon G. H. Gavin. An amendment, moved by Canon Percival James, to the effect that an investigation be made into what modern versions of the Bible are in existence, and that these be referred to those people who desired a modern version was lost.

Other motions carried during the proceedings were as follow: That the Synod respectfully request the Primate to appoint a. Commission to confer with other religious bodies, and with the Radio Broadcasting Board, regarding the broadcasting of church services, (moved by Canon James). That a committee be appointed to consider the desirability of renewing the publication of sermons for layreaders, and to report (moved by Canon Neild).
