WEATHER FORECAST General inference: An intense anticyclone is now centred east of Otago. The cyclone to the north of Norfolk Island has made some progress southward. A shallow westerly depression is advancing across the South Tasman Forecast: Moderate and variable winds, east to north predominating. Weather mainly fair to fine, hut some showers later in southern parts. Seas smooth to moderate.
