Mr. MacCarthy, in his address, included a reference to letters seized by the police at Tuaefu. The defence objected to the admission of other than documents signed by Nelson. The objection was overruled where any letters were found in the possession of Nelson and involved and connected him with Mau Abstracts from documents were read by Mr. MacCarthy in opening. The Government is having great difficulty in finding three super-men for the commission to bring order out of chaos in the bankruptcy of Newfoundland.
