SYDNEY, December 19. Sir C. Kingsford Smith will fly the Southern Cross to New Zealand about the middle of January. A new monoplane, which is being built at Cockatoo Dockyard, will not be ready then, owing to the delay in delivery of tin' engines, but if the plane gives satisfactory results in the tests, it will be flown to New Zealand later. Smithy will pilot the Southern Cross and Taylor will be navigator. The new monoplane will be flown by Trevoi White, with Bennett as navigator.
