A Vienna cablegram announced that Princess Ileana had given birth to a daughter.

Mr S. Ritchie’s term as a conciliation commissioner has been extended for a further six months as from January 9 next.

Miss Mary McMahon, who has been an inmate of the Westland Hospital for a long period, has returned to Reefton.

The wedding will take place at Christchurch on December 27, of Mr 'A. T. Gandell, youngest son of Mrs Wm. Gandell, formerly of Greymouth, to Miss E. M. Wallis; daughter of the Rev. T. J. and Mrs Wallis, Hendon Street, St. Albans, Christchurch.

The death from, pneumonia occurred at Stoke, Nelson, early this morning, of Gordon, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Auld, Reefton. Deceased had been ill only a short time, and the end was unexpected. He was 25 years of age and was born at Westport, and is survived by his brother and parents. The interment will take place at Reefton.
