WEDDINGS
WORTHINGTON— HOLT. The wedding of Olive May, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Holt, of Paroa, and Claude Bertram, son of Mrs and the late Mr L. Worthington of Christchurch, was solemnised this afternoon at Holy Trinity Church, Archdeacon. J-- A.. Jermyn officiating. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore an ankle length frock of georgette-and silk radium lace with train. Her tulle veil was held in place with a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of cream roses. The bridesmaids, Miss G. Mnssen, Miss G Doel and Miss M. Coumbe, wore dainty ankle-length frocks in pastel shades of lemon, green and peach crepe-de-chine respectively, with silk caps to tone, and they carried bouquets of sweet peas and' roses. The flower girls, Miss Jesma Holt, sister of the bride, and Miss Sylvia Sanders, Hokitika, wore Early Victorian frocks in blue.and pink, with bonnets, and each carried baskets of sweet peas. The bridegroom was attended by Mr S. H. Bassett, as best man. Mr T. F. Savage officiated at the organ. A reception was later held at Herb. Moore’s, where the bride’s mother received the guests, wearing black and crepe-de-chine. v/ith hat to tone. Mrs Worthington, mother of the bridegroom, wore black satin and crepe-de-chine, and a hat to tone. After the reception, the newlymarried couple left for Rotorua and’ Auckland, the bride travelling in a smart brown costume, with hat to tone. HANSBURY—FLAHERTY. The wedding took place, yesterday, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Christchurch, of Miss Sarah Margaret Flaherty, of Cobden, and John Patrick Hansbury, of Ross. The bride, who was’ escorted by her brother-in-law, Mr. J. O’Brien, M.P., wore a frock of raisin shade angelskin lace, over shell pink georgette. She wore a hat to match, and carried a bouquet of roses, carnations, and sweet peas.
Mrs. J. O’Brien, sister of the bride, was matron of honour, wearing a frock of wine coloured elephant crepe, with hat to tone. She carried a posy of golden abutilon flowers and roses. Mr. Percy Lane attended as best man. The reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. Lane, Perth Street, Christchurch, and later, Mr. and Mrs. Hansbury left for the South on their honeymoon.
