Constable .1. Rogers, of Brunner, en tered the Grey River Hospital las evening, for treatment.

Dr. Norman Greenslade will arrive this evening from Christchurch, on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Greenslade, Kilgour Road.

Miss N. J. Sullivan is expected to arrive from Wellington to-morrow evening, to take up duties as Matron, at the Grey River Hospital.

Mr George Ross, of. Cobden, who recently underwent a serious operation at the Grey Hospital, is making a good recovery.

The late Mr C. Emil Olsen, who died on Saturday, was well known in Kumara, and on the West Coast. -He was a native of Denmark, and came to the Coast in the early days, having a store at Stafford in 1867, and a butcher shop in Kumara. in 1877. He retired 40 years ago. Mr Olsen is survived by two daughters. Mrs H. W. Smith (Waiuku) and Mrs M. Keech (Wellington).

The death occurred last evening of Rev. George Lindsay, of Christchurch, aged 87, a retired Minister of the Presbyterian Church. He was Minister at St. Paul’s, Invercargill, for 23 years until 1911, in which year he was Moderator of the General Assembly, and was afterwards at St. Clair for two years, and at Southbridge for five years.—Press Assn.

The death has occurred of Mr William Clement Cargill, of Morrinsville, at the age of 63. From 1892 to 1902 he was proprietor of the “Wairarapa Star,” later known as the “Age,” and from 1904 until 1908 he controlled the “Patea Press.” Subsequently he started the “Pukekohe Times,” and then purchased the “Morrinsville Star.” At the time of his death, he was Managing Director of the Cargill Publishing Coy., which publishes the “Morrinsville Star,” the “Matamata Record,” and the “Putaruru Press.” Mr Cargill was President of the Master Printers’ Federation from 1928 until 1930. —Press Assn.

The death occurred yesterday, after a lengthy illness, at her residence, Easson’s Hill, of Mrs Elizabeth Naylor, wife of Mr Arthur Naylor, J.P., the Deputy Official Assignee at Greymouth. The late Mrs Naylor was a native of South Spit, Hokitika, where her parents, the late Mr and Mrs Duncan, were well-known settlers. She is survived by two brothers, Mr William Duncan (’Westport), and Mi’ John Duncan (Te Awamutu), and by three sisters, Mesdames M. A. Holley (Hokitika), E. Casserley ’ (Blackball), and C. Duske (Blackball). The funeral takes place to-morrow afternoon.
