HOKITIKA NOTES

[OL’E OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HOKITIKA, August 17. The annual visit between the AVest Christchurch High School and Hokitika D.II. School takes place to-day, AVest Christchurch coming to Hokitika on this occasion. The party includes a Rugby team which plays the Hokitika School team to-morrow, and a debating team which meets a team of debaters from the local school tomorrow night. The visitors are to be entertained at a concert to-night and a social (following the debate), tomorrow night. The monthly meeting of All Saints Boys’ Club was held last night, when there was a good attendance. After the routine lousiness had been disposed of, the Rev. H. J» W. Knights (President), gave an interesting address on the genesis of parishes and church organisation generally, and the building of the first churches in England. He was accorded a vote of thanks.
