The “Daily Mail” says: The late Sir John Ellerman’s estate was proved provisionally at £1,722,425, entirely cash, and Government securities. Over eight, and' a-half millions has already been paid in death duties.

When Sir J. Ellerman’s vast interests in shipping, brewery industries, trust companies and freehold property, are assessed, the total is expected to reach over thirty million. Bequests include £.1,437 to his butler, £1125 to each chauffeur, £150,000 to his widow, with an annuity of £30,000, tax free, and £60,000 to his daughter, with £600,000 in trust. The present baronet received £600,000 in cash, two million and the residue, in trust.

Charitable bequests include £lOOO each to important London hospitals.
