BOXING

TO-NIGHT’S AMATEUR TOURNEY. The Greymouth Boxing Association will stage the West. Coast Amateur Championships, at the Town Hall, this evening. There is reason to expect that the contests will provide as exciting and crowd-pleasing features, as did the wrestling bout last Saturday night. Amateur boxing in Greymouth has never failed to please. There are two sections in to-night’s fare, novice, and championship classes. The novices are likely to provide more amusement than skill, but from what is known of the contestants for championship honours, these bouts will introduce scientific boxing, and keen fights. The programme is one that should attract a large public attendance.
