BLACKBALL CLUB’S MOTION. [OXJB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] An unofficial meeting of the Blackball League Club, called at the instigation of Messrs A. H. McKane and L. Hunter, was held in the club rooms, yesterday afternoon. After a good deal of discussion, which cleared the air somewhat, the following motion was moved and carried: “That this unofficial meeting recommend to the Blackball League to rescind the motion put on the books regarding withdrawing from the West Coast League, and that a motion of no confidence in the West Coast selectors, be placed on the books.” . At a special meeting of the Blackball Club, held last evening, the resolution carried at the meeting held on Monday night, to the effect that the club withdraw from the West Coast Centre, was rescinded, and the following motion placed on the books: “That the Blackball Club still belong to the Centre, but will not participate in any more games until the Executive from the West Coast League come to Blackball and hear the gi levances.” VOTE NOT RECORDED. Mr R. J. Harrington, Secretary of the West Coast Rugby League Centre, informed the “Star’ 'to-day, that his statement to Mr J. Hunt, that the vote of the Blackball Club, on the question of the appointment of a member to the Management Committee, had been exercised, was incorrect. On perusing the minute book, last evening, Mr Harrington found that the Blackball Club had not exercised its vote. The voting paper had apparently been mislaid, or lost in transit. DODDS AND CALDER. The Secretary of the West Coast League received the following telegrams to-day, from J. Dodds and J. Calder, the Blackball Club's members, selected to tour with the representative team: “Not available North Island tour, Dodds,” and from Calder, “Awaiting Blackball Club’s decision.” TO PLAY SOUTH AUCKLAND. The Secretary of the West Coast League Centre received telegraphic advice from the South Auckland Rugby League last evening as follows: “August 19 approved for match. Play at Huntley. When will Coast team arrive and depart?” As the West Coast asked for the match to be a contest tor the Northern Union Cup, it is assumed that South Auckland, who are the holders, are consenting to the trophy being contested.
