The appointment oi officers previously elected’ was confirmed. Mrs Page briefly addressed the gathering, outlining the aims, objects and activities of the Institute. Suggestions were then invited for. future demonstrations, and the following are some of the suggestions: —Glove and mocassin-making, icing cakes, knitting socks, nursing and cup-reading. The competition for the August meeting is to make a useful article out of household scraps. A question box will be installed where questions .may be deposited by anyone desiring information on any particular subject. Afternoon tea was served by the ladies committee.
