IKAMATUA NOTES

[our own correspondent.] The annual meeting of the Ikamatua Public Hall was held on Saturday evening. Mr P. .J. Fitzgerald presiding over a fair attendance. The. balance sheet showed a. credit balance over the year’s working of about £2O and this was considered satisfactory, as a fair amount of money was expended during the year on repairs furnishings etc. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted. President. Mr P. J. Fitzgerald: secretary and treasurer, Mr B. Mirfin; Committee: Messrs H. Steel. G. J. Mclnroe, A. Mirfin, M. Flynn, J. McLennan and A. Bradley. Auditor, Mr R. J. Warring. It was decided to have a working bee in the near future to clean up the hall surroundings. Owing to not having sufficient practice the Mawheraiti Rifle Club postponed the shoot for the Walters Cup from yesterday till next Sunday. Practice shooting was held on the range yesterday. A friendly match between Waipuna and Ikamatua tennis clubs was held at Ikamatua yesterday when the home team proved winners by 9 sets 63 games to 2 sets 35 games. The weather was perfect and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent. The ladies provided afternoon tea*. The results were (Waipuna mentioned in each case first) : Men’s doubles —Hagan and Walters v.
