MINISTER’S VISIT TO N.Z.

CANBERRA, March 9.

Reversing its decision earlier in the week, the Commonwealth Government announces that Senator Massey Greene is going to New Zealand on a trade mission, to endeav our to have the New Zealand fruit embargo lifted. Senator Massey Greene possesses an extensive knowledge of trace matters. He will be able 'to go to the Dominion owing to the Senate not meeting immediately. He sails on March 11.

The “Daily Telegraph’s” correspondent at Canberra, says: An important revision of trade relations between Australia and New Zealand is expected to follow Mr. Greene's visit. Under the trade agreement of 1922, the Dominion has distinct advantages, especially for live stock and fish, which are admitted duty free.

DUTY ON FISH.

An official proclamation to-day exempts from primage duty fish caught by Australian trawlers outside Australian waters. This proclamation is the sequel to a trawler’s operations in New Zealand waters which raised official doubts whether their catches were liable to primage.

BUTTER EXPORTS

CANBERRA, March 9.

Federal Cabinet Ministers are again conferring with the Dairy Export Control Board on a proposal to limit the exports of Australian buttter. This is the result of a cablegram received from Mr. Bruce, saying that the British Government are disappointed with Australia’s previous decision refusing to agree to any restriction.
