TWO MEN DEAD.

GLASGOW, January 22

A wounded woman ran along a stieet and up several flights of stairs to a friend’s homo early this morning to raise the alarm after a shooting tragedy in which her husband and another man were killed. . The woman herself, Mrs. Mary Cairns, aged 22, was taken to hospital in a serious condition, but. was able to make a statement at three o’clock this morning.

Tho dead men are: John Cairns (2G), of Parker Street, Whiteinch, Glasgow, and Lance-Cpl. Laborde, of the Royal Scots Fusiliers, Catterick Camp. Laborde, whose leave is said to have expired yesterday, called about 11.30 to see Mrs. Cairns, with whom he had been friendly some years ago. A quarrel took place, and it is believed that Laborde shot. Mr. and Mrs. Cairns and then turned the revolver upon himself. During his leave, Laborde had been staying with Mrs. Cairns's mother, and he had left, her house yesterday, intending to rejoin his unit. He had apparently been in the house with Mrs. Cairns for some time before the tragedy. Mr. and ‘Mrs. Cairns had only been married a, year. Laborde wrote from Shanghai, where he was serving when he heard of her engagement, to ask her to reconsider her decision. Mrs. Cairns is stated to-day to have rallied a. little, though she is still in a serious condition. Her pel dog followed her out when she ran to raise the alarm, and would not be parted from her until it was locked up. The wounded woman is al tho Western Infirmary, where per husband was employed as a laboratory porter.
