SECOND DAY’S PLAY. The weather was again ideal for the continuation of the West Coast Lawn Tennis Association’s championships and annual tournament, and there was a large attendance. At the close ol the play yesterday only 99 matches remained to be played out of a total of 276 originally set 'iown foir decision. In the men’s championship singles the semi-finalists will be M. J. O’Malley (Christchurch), R. Kear (United, Greymouth), H. Djmond (Christchurch), N. G. Munns (Christchurch) ; in the men’s championship doubles the semi-finalists will be M. J. O’Malley (Christchurch) and W P. McCarthy (Greymouth); C. F. Schadick and J. J. Comerford (Westport); H. Dymond and N. G. Munns (Christchurch), and A. and P- Warnes (United, Greymouth). Mr G. Pratt presided over an attendance of the following at the annual meeting of the West Coast Lawn Tennis Association held last evening: Messrs C. F. Schadick, J. J. Comerford (Westport.); W. Richmond (Runanga); P. Warnes (representing Cobden Club by proxy) ; Hutchison (St. John’s); T. Anisy (St. Columba); M. C. Smith, Dr. H. S. Ray (Grey); and A. Warnes (United), secretary. Mr G. Goldie, West Coast delegate to the N.Z. Lawn Tennis Association, and a life member of the New Zealand Association, and Mr J. Pownall, another member of the governing body were also present. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs A. L. McKay (United) and G. H. Guthrie (Hokitika).
