RUNANGA MEMORIAL.

[to the editor.]

Sir, —Being a visitor to Runanga, after a few years’ absence, I was astounded, upon visiting the monument erected by the residents of Runanga, in memory of two popular citizens of Runanga—who lost their lives in tragic circumstances. In such a state, it would be considered a disgrace in a refuse heap. If the Mayor of Runanga called for workers to make the monument respectable, it would be

nobly responded to. A few hours’ work would make it as it should be. —Yours etc.

ONCE A RESIDENT.
