The deputation was requested to state whether they had any definite charge to bring against the administration of the Committee, but the reply was in the negative.

Mr Greenslade stated that, as Chairman, he had every confidence in the Committee, and decided that no change or addition was necessary. The Committe dealt with various cases of distress, all the applicants being granted relief. A further considerable reduction was advised by the Unemployment Board, in the amount allocated for unemployment relief at Greymouth, next week. It was decided to forward a telegram to the Board, pointing out the serious nature of the position, and asking for a definite explanation as to the reason for the reduced allocation. N.Z.
