Miss Diana Wilson, the actress, was examined in the Bankruptcy Court. Her liabilities were £2686, and her assets £56.
She said that she had earned £5O a week in Australia, but she had not saved, because she had thought her earnings would always continue. She attributed her failure to a lack of regular engagements since 1926, and to entertaining beyond her means during the last three years, during which she had spent £625 on entertainingpeople. Sometimes she entertained twice a week, and sometimes once a month. A first-night party usually cost £4O, because the guests always drank a. lot. LEAGUE OF NATIONS. RUGBY, October 27. Several Governments have already made gifts of furniture and panelling ter tho equipment of the League of Nations’ new building at Geneva. The British Government have under consideration the making of some such volu n t ary co n tri b u tion. ANGLO EGYPTIAN RELATIONS RUGBY, October 27. Asked whether he would make a statement as to the relations existing between the British Government and the present Government in Egypt, and whether the latter is one with which relations may be developed in the direction of a settlement of outstanding questions. Major Eden, in the Commons, stated he was happy to say relations with the Egyptian Government were entirely friendly. The British Government made no reservations in regarding the present Egyptian administration as one with which An-glo-Egyptian relations had both been and may continue to be developed at a time and in a manner which appear most suitable for the purpose.

A Melbournite, Eric Malpass, tramping the world, earning a living by singing, left Dover, with a few shillings in his pocket. He is going home, via Europe, Asia, Japan, and America. He says that he was never destitute during his four months in England.
