At Southampton this week-end eleven liners are scheduled to arrive or depart, carrying over 70,000 passengers on holidays cruises. Some seventyfive trips will be made during the remainder of the season. The majority start from Southampton, the Mersey and th© Thames. The cruises range from trips round the British Isles, to visits to tho northern capitals of Spain, the Mediterranean and a round the world journey.
The Imperial Airways are opening on September 5, and a new desert air service, which will save travellers the discomfort of two days’ journey by desert car, between Palestine and Iraq. The service will make a journey from Baghdad to Galilee in five hours, and the East bound flight from Ramleh to Baghdad in eight hours. Tne service will make connections with steamships, and will be operated by Avro ten air liners.
