[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ORPHANAGE APPEAL. CHRISTCHURCH, August 12. A street appeal, to-day, on behalf ot Anglican, Presbyterian and Methodist orphanages in Christchurch realised £l5BB, and it is expected that the total will rise to £l6OO when all the returns are in. A “copper trail” laid by school children amounted to nearly £lOO, and a radio concert realised £346. NORTH EGMONT HOSTEL. NEW PLYMOUTH, August 12. The North Egmont Hostelry and plant, costing over £lO,OOO, is being handed over to the Egmont National Park Board, free of liability by the company controlling it, consisting cf citizens of New Plymouth, who established it over twenty years ago, to assist in popularising the mountain.
