STARS MAY BE DEPORTED
DIETRICH AND GARBO NEW YORK, June 29. Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich, two of the highest paid members of Hollywood’s colony of foreign film stars, may be deported by the United States ior having overstayed their “legal welcome,” according to “Variety,” the well-informed theatrical weekly published in New York. Neither artist is now employed. The contracts under which they were admitted to the United States having expired, both are said to be liable to be deported undei’ the Immigration Laws.
It is understood that a Hollywood screen actors’ union requested the au-
