Hamilton, by the Relief Workers’ Association, for permission to hold a small art union for the purpose of assisting deserving cases of distress among the unemployed. Mr H. Daniels, the secretary, said the desire of the workers was to institute a scheme without having recourse to charity. Mr Hamilton said the Government did not encourage art unions, although they were not altogether prohibited, and it was possible in the present instance that the Government might oe able to help the association.
