’QUAKE AT DARWIN. DARWIN, July 29. An earthquake shock was felt, at Darwin at 6.45 a.m. to-day. No damage was done, but buildings were severely shaken. . o i PARK HORROR. SYDNEY, July 28. Detectives have already questioned about thirty men in connection with the death of Miss Hilda White, formerly of New Zealand, whose murder in Centennial Park, Sydney, at night was cabled yesterday. The affair is a complete mystery. The police have not overlooked the theory of robbery, as the, victim’s handbag was discovered two hundred yards from the body. ASKS TO BE HANGED. 1 SYDNEY, July 29. William Moxley, sentenced to death for the murder of Frank Wilkinson and Dorothy Denzel, has written to the Minister of Justice (Mr Meertin) asking- that the sentence be carried out.
Cabinet decides Moxley’s fate next week. His action is stated to be without a precedent in the State. The last man hanged in New South Walss was in 1924
