OLYMPIC GAMES
PREPARATIONS FOR OPENING. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LOS ANGELES, July 27. With participants in the Games from thirty-two nations already resident at the Olympic Village, only the contestants of five small teams from China, Cuba, Esthonia, Portugal and Spain havo yet to arrive before the official opening of the Tenth Olympiad on Saturday. Whereas China and Uruguay will be represented by only one contestant each, the United States will have the largest representation with 350 athletes. Canada comes second with 120.
An interesting post-Olympic feature has been arranged, the so-called AngloAmerican Games, between the United States and the British Empire, at San Francisco, beginning on August 14. Fifty thousand spectators are expected daily during the fortnight’s contests at the Olympiad. With the principal stadium seating 105,000, the swimming stadium 10,000, tho auditorium for boxing and wrestling 10,400, and six other stadiums with large accommodations, fully 400,000 spectators can be accommodated daily. It is hoped that all attendance records for the Olympic Games will be broken.
