A committee to inquire into the question of the sterilisation of mental defectives has been set up by the British Health ‘ Ministry, with Mr. L. G. Brock (Chairman of the Board of Control) as chairman. The committee will examine and report on any information available regarding hereditary 1 transmission and other causes of mental disorders and deficiencies. It will consider the value of sterilisation as a preventative measure, having regard to its- physical psychological, and social effects, and in regard also to the experience of legislation in other countries. ROYAL VISIT. RUGBY, June 9. The King and Queen of Belgium have arrived at London on a short private visit.
