TRANSPORT APPEAL BOARD. WELLINGTON, April 8.

The Minister of Transport has announced the appointment made by the Governor-General to fill three positions on the Transport Appeal Board, under the Transport Licensing Act, 1931. The appointments are Justice Frazer (Chairman), Mr Lisle Aiderton (solicitor, Auckland), appointed from the nominations of the Motor Service Proprietors; Mr Thomas Jordan (solicitor, and Mayor, Masterton), appointed from the nominations by the executives of the Municipal and Counties’ Association. Justice Frazer is at present Chairman of both the Transport Appeal Board and of Central Licensing Authority. He is • relinquishing the latter position, however, and steps will be taken to make another appointment to the Central Licensing Authority in the near future. Owing to pressure of his other duties .in (the Arbitration and Compensation Courts, it has been found impossible for Justice Frazer to give sufficient time to transport licensing work, but as the same calls will not require to be made upon his services in respect of appeals, it has been decided to utilise his services and wide experience in that phase of work.
