REEFTON NOTES
[OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
REEFTON, March 11.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Lawn, of Dunedin, who are holiday making on the West Coast, visited Reefton to-day, accompanied by Mr. F. Lawn. Mr. F. Keating, of Westport, visited Reefton yesterday. Mrs. J. Hunter, of The Terrace, was taken seriously ill on Wednesday, but yesterday was showing some improvement.
Mr. Brebner, the newly-appointed stationmaster at Inaugahua Junction, has arrived, and takes up his duties immediately. The continued spell of dry weather is causing a water shortage in Reefton and people who are relying on tanks for supply are feeling the pinch. The seventeenth annual Show of the Inangahua A. and P. Association opened to-day. Record entries have been received. Mrs. R. T. Bush and Mr. Murray, both of Greymouth, are making special displays of flowers. Side-shows are in full swing. This afternoon a school sports programme will take place. To-morrow is people’s day, and a lage attendance is expected. A good general programme is being provided, including special school items, for which the children have been trained by Mr. Pratt.
