Having completed the first Invercargill to Auckland air-mail flight, Squadron Leadei’ McGregor returned to Wellington with mail to-day. He left Auckland at 7.30 a.m. with one bag of mail aboard, and called at NeW Plymouth and at Wanganui, and after picking up a bag of mail at each town, he landed at Rongotai at 12.15 p.m. The mails which came by the machine were delivered in Wellington on the afternoon rounds. The time taken by the trip was 4 hours and 45 minutes. A copy of the “Herald,” published in Auckland in the morning, was delivered at the “Dominion” office before 1 p.m. When it was received, the previous day’s “Herald,” despatched by rail, had not arrived. A quantity of the mail brought went to Sydney to connect with the AustraliaLondon air mail, by the Marama, which, left in the afternoon.
