MIGHTY POWER IN BUSINESS
Sir Gomer Berry, Bart-, writes: — “Advertising—the power over-ruling foe old law of supply and demand — has transformed one-man businesses into mass-production industries. “It has played a vital part in achieving higher standards of living, has moved people to study, to travel,' to surround themsdlves wfith comforts and conveniences that conserve health, ensure happiness and produce efficiency.
“It is the dynamic force that has maintained old markets and created new, and. has increased the spending power of multitudes employed in the manufacture of the hundreds of articles and commodities to which it has given selling value. “In a testing year of trade depression advertising has proved itself a necessity and not a luxury. Reduction of advertising for temporary gain may result in the gift of a market to a trade competitor and lead to permanent loss.”
