LABOURER POISONED
TRAGEDY AT POLICE STATION. [pee press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, November 8. William John McCausland, a labourer, aged 34, married, died from poisoning in the detective office at Christchurch yesterday afternoonMcCausland was being questioned by a detective, when he complained of feeling seedy. The interview was then discontinued, and McCausland was given food and a cup of tea. After this he complained of feeling ill, and was rushed to tho hospital, where he died at 3.40 p.m. An inquest was opened to-day, and was adjourned. The Coroner ordered a post mortem and an analysis of the dregs of the tea cup.
