LATE MESSAGES
WELLINGTON, November 9. The Pakura in tow of the Toia, arrived this morning and berthed shortly before 10. After discharge of .cargo, she will be placed on the patent Islip. AUCKLAND, November 9. . Great indignation was voiced by launch and yacht owners, to-day, because, last night, returning from the first cruise of the season in freshly painted craft, they encountered in the harbour a slimy black film of oil, through which they had to* pass to reach moorings. The consequence is that many boats will have to be repainted. It is understood that an overseas ship pumped out its bilges at the entrance to the harbour, and it entered the harbour aj: flood tide. Scores of complaints have been made to the Harbourmaster, and more will be heard of the matter.
