[PKB PBKSS ASSOCIATION.] OLD MAN’S DEATH DANNEVIRKE, November 7. James Collins, a patient in Park Island Home, Napier, who was buried for three days and three nights in the debris after the quake on February 3 last, died at the Dannevirke Hospital where he had been a patient since March last, from senile decay. He was aged ninety-four years. He had no relatives in the Dominion.
DRUNKEN DRIVER WANGANUI, November 7. Tahu Wiremu Ratana was fined £5O this morning, and his license was cancelled for three years, for being in a state of. intoxication when in charge bf a motor car. It was Ratana’s second offence. Magistrate Salmon said that only for the fact Ratana was prevented from driving the car by. the police, he would Have been sent to gaol. ,
