Wheat prices climbed still higher in a sensational wave of speculative trading during the last few minutes of to-day’s sessiop. A sudden resumption of general buying by the commission houses, and the traders, freed the market from yesterday’s recession. Traders, in describing to-day’s session, asserted that “it looked like old times all over again, there not having been so much excitement in months.” Experts estimated that the market value of grain in recent weeks has increased by nearly four hundred, million dollars. Chicago wheat to-day closed as follow: December wheat 64 3-8 cents per bushel; March'6BJ May 69 3-8, July 70.
