Mr A. Grogan left to-day on a visit to Christchurch.

Mr. A. Beban find Mr. C. McKechnie left this morning on a visit to Christchurch.

Mrs D. B. Murray returned yesterday to Greymouth, from a brief visit to Christchurch.

Mr A. E. Christie, General Manager of the Grey Valley Collieries, arrived yesterday from Christchurch.

. Inspector J. Fitzpatrick, of the Greymouth Police, is on sick leave, and is suffering from an attack of influenza.

Mr. A. I. Flett, Chief Postmaster at Greymouth, commenced annual leave to-day.. During his absence, »Mr. R. G. .May,' Postmaster at Westport, will be in charge at Greymouth.

A large number of friends of the Greymouth Assembly met last evening at the residence of Mrs Wisdom, Cobden, to bid farewell to Miss Minnie Fong, who after spending most of her life in Greymouth, leaves tomorrow for China, where she for a time will reside. Mr Judd, on behalf of those present, presented her with a beautifully bound Bible, wishing her a pleasant voyage and God speed.
