THE GREYCLIFFE DISASTER
FOUR YEARS’ LITIGATION ENDS. A'brief announcement dn the Full Court at Sydney last Moiiday marked the closing of the last of the litigation that flowed from the tragic .collision between the liner Tahiti and the ferry steamer Greycliffe in Sydney Harbour on November 3, 1927. The matters before the Court were, cross appeals from the judgment of Mr. Justice Haise Rogers in an action brought by Sydney Ferries, Ltd., against the ship Tahiti, to recover damages of £20,000. His Honor found that both the Tahiti and the Greycliffe were blameworthy. He fixed the responsibility of th‘6 Greycliffe At twothirds and of the Tahiti at one-third. Mr. F. P. Evans (for the ship Tahiti) said that by consent he had to ask that the appeals be struck out. Mr. justice Harvey: Does that finaly dispose of the matter? Mr. Manning, K.C. .(for Sydney Ferries, Ltd.): Yes, your Honor. Leave was granted counsel for the ship Tahiti to take away the exhibits. It is understood that all other claims resulting from the collision have been adjusted.
