Lord Bledisloe left Dunedin on Saturday for Palmerston and Waimate, where he spent the week-end. Lady Bledisloe’s chill is somewhat improved, but she, will be unable to travel till to-morrow, or Wednesday.,

Dr W. McKay, who has been visiting Christchurch, returned to Greymouth on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. W. Rathbun returned to Greymouth on Saturday from a tour of the North Island. -

The condition of Mrs. C. Rugg was reported by the Hospital authorities, to-day, to be about the same.

Mr and Mrs L. McGinley, Nelson, are on a holiday visit to Greymouth, and are the guests of Mrs J. McGinley, Boundary Street.

The death occurred at Reefton Hospital, last night, of Alex. Anderson, aged 77, an inmate for 13 years. He was a native of Finland.

Rev. George Budd, Superintendent of Presbyterian Home Missions, will visit Greymouth and the West Coast this week, in connection with mission charges. A cablegram from Paris stated that the wedding of the Infanta Beatrice and Prince Alvaro, fixed for this month, has been indefinitely postponed. No reason is given. Guests at Revington’s include:— Messrs R. T. Chisholm, W. C. Hopkins (Dunedin), W. Zamber, H. M. Millar, H. M. Boyd (Wellington), MC. Kerrahan (Hokitika). Rev. Brother 'Justin, Provincial for New Zealand of the Marist Brothers’ Order, arrived from Wellington on Saturday, on. an official visit to Greymouth. The death occurred last Friday, of Mr J. H. Witheford; of Birkenhead, who a generation ago was one of the best known men in Auckland. He was at one time chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board and Mayor of Birkenhead. He also represented Auckland in Parliament. The death occurred yesterday afternoon at Reefton Hospital of Mrs. Mary A. Avery, aged 76. She was a native of Cornwall and had .been a resident of the district for over 20 years. She is survived by three sons, and several grandchildren.
