ENTERTAINMENTS

OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT If you can picture Buster Keaton in the role of a “great lover,” you have a partial idea of the hilarity the comedian’s latest talkie, “Parlour, Bedroom and Bath,” to be screened tonight, Saturday’s matinee and evening. Charlotte Greenwood, whose droll antics added immeasurably to the success of the Broadway hit, was wisely included in the talkie cast, and her inimitable stunts with those long legs get as many roars from the audience as ever. There are plenty of other performers and pandemonium reigns and a volcano of laughs ensues. Reginald Denny as a matchmaker, Cliff Edwards as a bellhop, Dorothy Christy as the girl who captures Keaton, Joan Peers, Sally Eilers, Natalie Moorhead, Edward Brophy, Walker Merrill and Sidney Bracy all have a prominent share in the fun. “The Seas Beneath” will be screened at Blackball to-night. “Don’t Bet on Women” will be screened at Runanga on Saturday night. POPULAR DANCING RENDEZVOUS. A continuation of merriment will be conducted at Schaef’s Hall, tomorrow night, when the Mawhera and Blaketown Club, will present another splendid programme .of old time dances. Arrangements will be firstclass and an enjoyable evening is assured. Billy Williams’s orchestra will be in attendance. MONTHLY MUSICAL RECITAL The monthly musical recital will be held at Holy Trinity Church on Sunday evening next. Mrs. J. Wright will sing “Hear My Prayer,” with choir. Mr. Ernest Short the eminent baritone, Wellington, will sing “The Lord is My Light,” (Allitsen) and “Lord God of Abraham” (Elijah). Two organ solos by Mr. T. F. Savage and choir will sing “Worthy is the Lamb” (Messiah). A retiring collection will be taken for the organ fund. SUNDAY NIGHT CONCERT. It is many years since the public of Greymouth have had the opportunity of hearing the St. Patrick’s Church Choir on a. concert platform, and nine since Mr Harold Prescott last performed in public at Greymouth. These two attractions for the concert to be held at the Town Hall on Sunday night next should be big factors in ensuring a large attendance, and there are appearing, iu addition to these, many other artists who have performed with conspicuous distinction here before. The concert is to be given in aid of the funds of St. Patrick’s Church.
