WATCHING OVER CUP HORSES MELBOURNE, October 28. Melbourne Cup scratching: Dark Man has broken down. A special watchman arrived from Sydney for Veilmond and Concentrate. Mr Mackinnon, chairman of the V.R.C., says that Phar Lap will be unhurt if he starts in the Opp. Koda Pen, a hot favourite, won the Maiden Plate at Kyneton. CAMBRIDGESHIRE STAKES. LONDON, October 28.
